Many a times in life we might have come across people who have said that ; enjoy every moment ,because every thing around you carries the very potential to, teach you ,something new.
Quoting PIET HEIN "Art is solving problems that cannot be formulated before they have been solved. The shaping of the question is the part of the answer.
When I ask people - how can an individual be happy in life ..I get many answers ..
Some stating money to be the reason of their happiness ,some stating materialistic things , their success , their family, friends..etc..
But i personally believe ..the very key to attain a HAPPY LIFE is ..
STABILITY.
The point here is about intentionally CREATING stability in your life not BRINGING stability in your life !!!
Have you heard about the atoms and molecules which form the very basic unit of this entire universe ...
Well, more stable the element lesser it reacts !!
Thats the very lesson of life !
Lets analyse this statement with a beautiful anecdote.
This is inspired by one of the speeches made by SUNDAR PICHAI (CEO OF GOOGLE).
THE COCKROACH THEORY:
At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on a lady. She started screaming out of fear. With a panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach. Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got panicky. The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but… it landed on another lady in the group. Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama.
The waiter rushed forward to their rescue. In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter. The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behaviour of the cockroach on his shirt. When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant.
As rightly said by BOB PROCTOR ; when you REACT you are giving away your power , when you respond you are staying in control of yourself.
That's exactly what the beautiful wordings of sundar pichai say...
In life we all are going to have cockroaches in terms of studies, stress, job, friends, relationships, grades...etc.
But we can surely help our-self by responding to the situation ..
If you are stable in your life ,responding to a situation comes naturally to you..
And if you respond to a situation ,you consciously make an effort to bring stability in your life.
Stability and reactivity are in inverse proportion.
The more you react the less stable you are ...its never the load that breaks you but the way you carry it ...likewise, its never the situation that puts you in trouble but the way you handle it ....either by reacting or by responding ..!!
ALWAYS REMEMBER; People are happy ,not because its their chance to be , but because its their choice to be.
Rest is up to you, be the reactive lady or the stable waiter.!!

ReplyDeleteGreat work๐๐..... Nyc way for for telling about success... And the cockroach theory ๐๐..... And the comparison between chemistry and life ๐๐
ReplyDeleteWell, a good point here is that stability is the key to happiness. Nice connection you developed between stability and chemistry.
ReplyDeleteStability leads to happiness since, it provides certainty and clarity of mind.
Happiness is an internal choice and externally it can be affected through things like stability, clarity and certainty.
Nice observation from Sundar Pichai's speech.. the waiter was able to keep under a sudden situation. That's what him differentiated from other people.
Others simply just went into panic mode and that led to chaos....
As rightly said by Stephen covey one should work to be proactive rather than reactive!
This is so well versed. The reaction a d respond part was so enlightening. For a person like me who has short temper it really means something.
